Circulation Procedures

In order to check out a book within the York Academy Upper School Library, you must first complete an application to join the York County Library System. Applications are available at any time in the office, in the library, or in any library in the York County Library System. Once you have completed this form, you may borrow any of the books and non-book items by presenting your library card at the circulation desk.
Non-book items (calculators, headphones, etc.) are behind the circulation desk and available for checkout when the library card has been presented.

Circulation System

for substitutes

In order to check out a book item, go to the "Workstation Administration" tab on the desktop. From there, check that the workstation registered is YCACB and click "use now." Then sign in with the username and password in the substitute folder.

Under "Circulation and Patrons," select the button that says check out items. From there, you will scan the student's library card as well as the book item that they are checking out. You may then write out the due date on the bookmarks before giving the student their book.

For non-book items, please use the excel sheet on the desktop labeled "non-book circulation." For this, take the student's library card and write their name beside the item and its corresponding number. These items are due back by the end of the day. Students will not have their name removed from the list or their card back until they return the non-book item that they have in their possession.
